i work for free people, so obviously i am in love with the clothes and the brand, but i still find it difficult to often afford expensive pieces. sometimes i splurge; this is definitely one of those times. as soon as i saw this dress yesterday i knew i needed it on my body asap. i'm in love with the color, the style, the fit and how i feel in it. we have them in red and tan, so anyone in the area should definitely go in and try one on! they're a little sheer, but i put a really cheap slip underneath and you can't even tell! very wearable into the fall. best buy of the season by far.

last night i went to go see Jesper Haynes' 20 years of St. Mark Photography Exhibit, and it was amazing. i wish i had a picture of the floors in the gallery because they were made up of hundreds of smaller photos that he has taken over the years. i want to sit down and talk to this man for hours due to the amount of stories he must have. all of these pictures were taken in his apartment on st. marks over the past twenty years (obviously).

i actually love rainy summer days, especially when there's a twilight zone marathon on television. but i'm finding myself not being able to sit in one place for too long. i made delicious penne alla vodka before with greek yogurt! who knew?! that's really more of a side note though. i'm wondering how long it is going to take before my dad comes in here screaming about my incense burning. when i was in sag last week i picked up ten different scents for a buck! one of the main reasons i want to move out is so that i can spray and burn whatever i want without my dad freaking out that the world is going to end because of a stick of incense.

in other news, i haven't really been this happy in awhile. being in love is one of those rare things in life that is completely terrifying but nothing else really seems to matter when you're with that person. it's something that you just have to dive into with both eyes...well maybe one and a half eyes...closed. you can't really think too much about it, and you honestly don't really want to because feeling is sometimes better than thinking.

now onto bonnaroo. another successful year! i went a bit of a different route this year, and decided to go dancing. (another side note, but i'm listening to the new brett dennen album and everytime i type a word he sings it. weird.) anyway, i just decided to really do my own thing at roo. i realized that it was important to do what i wanted to do and see who i wanted to see. i got the chance to experience so many new people and artists that i wouldn't have normally gotten to. i saw things in a totally different light. i love bonnaroo because everyone loves everyone. even though my wallet got stolen the first year, a neighbor still returned it to me by mail a few weeks later. things like that don't usually happen around these parts. it's the best type of reality because it is what the world should be like. people helping people. people sharing and loving in music. people dancing without caring who is watching, and knowing that the person next to you is doing the same exact thing. what a wonderful world where you can just surf from tent to tent, experiencing a totally different genre of music and vibe within just a few feet from one another. i just did my bonnaroo laundry, and my white shirts have more of a brownish hue to them now, and all i want to do is go back to it. in bonnaroo reality, we're all dirty, and it's ok to be dirty sometimes.

so these are my random, rambling musings of the day. time to put my wash in the dryer, clean the basement, and read the middle of the electric koolaid acid test. happy trails loved ones.

so this weekend was bonnaroo in the lovely manchester, tennessee! i'll do a full recap when my head comes back down, but for now i'm just going to share some pictures that my beautiful friend sashi took of our reality.
